The Girl in the Window Four-Wall Room Map

One looping room. Four camera stops. No attic, no second floor, no street until the lever.

Room Map

Players search for a map of The Girl in the Window because the store page talks about “rooms” in the plural. There is one room. Dark Dome gives you four camera facings and lets you rotate. This page is the floor plan in sentences. Pair it with the item inventory and the walkthrough. Input notes live on controls.

If a hotspot will not light, you are on the wrong wall, not in a hidden corridor. There is no attic despite some video titles. There is no kitchen. The boarded doorway never opens as a second chamber in the main game.

How the camera works

On Android and iOS, arrows on the left and right of the frame rotate you ninety degrees. On Steam, click those same arrows or use the keys listed on controls. The inventory tray stays glued to the bottom. The gray notebook is an item, not a map overlay. Zoom is a close-up of one piece of furniture, then an exit tap to return to the wall.

Walk the loop twice at the start of a save. Name the walls out loud if you have to. Most “I am stuck” reports are a missed close-up on a wall the player already visited.

Wall 1 — front door

You spawn here. The door is sealed with a painted X. You will not leave through it until the lever behind the vampire safe.

Look for:

  • Coat hooks on the left: umbrella, torn paper in a sleeve
  • Small drawer unit on the right: candle, later the missing TV dial, later the glove
  • Empty light-switch plate on the left of the door (install the spare switch from the grid cupboard)
  • Peeling wallpaper you will cut with the knife (letter or path for the 3×3 grid)
  • Loose floorboard you will pry with the metal rod (garlic, board ramp)

This wall is chores and exits. It is not where the girl stands.

Wall 2 — television cabinet

Rotate right from the door. CRT, VCR, a tall cabinet with several locked doors, a cracked pipe, a goblet, a plant pot, and a floor cable that looks like trash.

Look for:

  • Goblet in the open
  • Upper cupboard photos
  • Square-key door: electrical tape
  • Oval-key door: bowl
  • Hex-key door: screwdriver and wine
  • Cracked pipe: send the mouse, collect the hex key
  • Floor cable: tape plus the plug from the mouse hole
  • TV panel: missing dial, then the TV dials puzzle, then the plastic handle

When indoor lights are off and the curtain is closed, this is also where the window projection appears. Face this wall to read the window padlock glyphs. Facing the window itself shows holes in cloth, not the ordered symbols.

Wall 3 — boarded doorway

Rotate right again. A door sealed with planks, a bookshelf, two cabinets, a vampire painting, a mouse hole, and plant pots.

Look for:

  • Gray notebook on the shelf
  • Low cupboard: symbol lock → mirror
  • Four-digit box: plant code → matches
  • Remaining cupboard: wallpaper-grid path → oval key and light switch
  • Vampire painting: screwdriver, then offerings, then the safe and lever
  • Mouse hole: candle, cable, later the trap
  • Rock in a pot

This is the “story wall.” The painting, the notebook, and the mouse all live here. If you only hunt on the window wall you will miss half the verbs.

Wall 4 — armchair and window

Last stop. Armchair, curtain, pinboard of newspaper clippings, two-drawer unit, bottle on the table, cheese, broken socket, electrical box, and the title view: a girl at the glass when the game wants you to see her.

Look for:

  • Bottle: break with the rock → round key and glass shard
  • Socket: square key
  • Cheese and cushion: knife → cross
  • Electrical box: glove, rotate tiles, outdoor lamp
  • Curtain: close it after the lamp is on
  • Pinboard: lift every clipping for vampire order
  • Two-drawer unit: VHS on top, window padlock on the lower drawer → metal rod
  • Diary on the table: story, not a combination

Stand here last when you want atmosphere. Stand here mid-game when you need the padlock. Do not expect a street until the door on wall 1 actually opens.

What this map is not

  • Not a Hidden Town overworld. Sister games have other houses. This chapter does not unlock them. See Hidden Town.
  • Not a multiplayer lobby. Single-player only.
  • Not a Steam Deck overlay. Deck compatibility is still Unknown on the store page; the room still fits a handheld screen because it was built for phones. Details: Steam launch.

Search order when you are lost

  1. Inventory tray — did you already pick it up?
  2. This map — which wall owns that furniture?
  3. Items — which combine did you skip?
  4. Codes — is it a randomized lock rather than a missing object?

The house is small on purpose. Runtime is the puzzles, not square footage. Once you can name the four walls without looking, the walkthrough reads as a shopping list instead of a maze.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the most common questions.

Is there a second room?

Not in the main game. One looping chamber, four walls. The boarded door is a backdrop, not an exit.

Where does the girl appear?

The armchair-and-window wall. Character notes wait on Mia after you escape.

Why can't I see the padlock symbols on the window?

The ordered glyphs project onto the television wall after lamp, curtain, and indoor lights off. See window padlock.

Does Steam add a map screen?

No. Same four facings as mobile. Use this page as the legend.
