The Girl in the Window Window Padlock and Curtain Light
A pipeline, not a single click. Lamp, curtain, lights off, then read the TV wall.
The padlock on the lower drawer under the window is the lock that fills 2026 comment sections with “my symbols are different.” They are supposed to be. This page is the pipeline. The early bookshelf cupboard and the wallpaper grid are different glyph puzzles; those stay on symbol locks. Digits stay on plant code. Offerings stay on the vampire safe.
The tier list ranks this padlock in S beside the painting. It is not hard because the logic is obscure. It is hard because five furniture actions have to be true at once, and Steam players in particular never turn the indoor lights off.
The five conditions
- Glove on. Round-key drawer by the front door. Wear it.
- Electrical box solved. Fuse panel beside the window. Rotate tiles until the lines connect. Flip the switch above the box. The outdoor lamp lights. Without the glove the panel will not let you work.
- Curtain closed. Tap the curtain on the armchair wall. Four holes now punch the sheet. An open curtain spills light and gives you no ordered glyphs.
- Spare indoor switch installed in the empty plate left of the front door (it comes from the wallpaper-grid cupboard). Turn the room lights off.
- Face the television wall, not the window. The outdoor lamp shining through the holes projects four symbols onto the TV wall. That is the live data.
If any of the five is false, the wall is dark or noisy and you will invent a fake code. The room map is explicit: projection is wall 2, holes are wall 4.
How to order the four symbols
Open the gray notebook. Find the page with a photo and four squares along the bottom. Each square is drawn with a branch or plant-shadow outline. Those outlines match the frames around the four projected glyphs.
The notebook order is the padlock order. The order the symbols happen to sit on the wall is not. This is the same muscle as the plant silhouettes. Write four glyphs in book order. Turn the indoor lights back on so you can see the furniture. Open the padlock on the lower drawer of the unit under the window.
Take the metal rod. That rod pries the floorboard for garlic and starts the mouse chain on the item list.
What randomizes
- Which glyph appears in which projection frame
- Which plant-shadow outline the notebook draws in which square
- Therefore the four-symbol string you type
What does not randomize:
- Where the padlock lives
- The lamp–curtain–lights-off pipeline
- The fact that the notebook squares, not the wall, set order
A video that shows a specific four-glyph code is an example. Rebuild yours. Randomized puzzles is the lecture; this page is the lock.
If nothing projects
- Outdoor lamp still off (tiles not aligned, or you skipped the upper switch)
- Curtain still open
- Room lights still on (missing wall switch, or you never flipped it)
- You are staring at the window instead of the TV wall
- You solved the electrical box without the glove and thought the spark was the puzzle finishing
Fix the pipeline before you assume a 2026 patch broke the house. Android 1.2.98 and the Steam port still use this same curtain trick. See patch notes if you want version numbers; they will not give you a universal glyph string.
Mixing this lock with the others
Do not enter the wallpaper letter into this padlock. Do not enter the Roman-numeral cupboard order. Do not enter vampire glyphs. Three symbol languages, three pieces of furniture. The tools hub has a scratch pad with separate blanks on purpose.
After the rod
The padlock is done. The window can stay a window. You still need garlic, bowl, mouse, wine, and the painting. Return to the walkthrough part 3 rather than standing at the glass hoping for a second code.
On Steam the projection is easier to photograph with a phone and easier to miss if you click the center of the TV wall instead of the glowing marks. On a phone the curtain hotspot is small. Slow down. The girl in the glass is atmosphere; the padlock is four holes and a notebook.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to the most common questions.
Why is the window wall dark?
Lamp on, curtain closed, indoor lights off, then look at the *television* wall. The glyphs are a projection.
My padlock code from a video failed.
The four symbols shuffle. Rebuild them from your notebook squares. See randomized puzzles.
Where is the metal rod?
Inside this padlocked drawer under the window, after the pipeline succeeds.
Is this the same as the bookshelf symbol cupboard?
No. That early cupboard uses the torn notebook page and Roman numerals. Different lock, earlier in the walkthrough.
