Hidden Town and The Girl in the Window

Where Dan and Mia sit in Dark Dome's larger mystery.

Hidden Town Series

The Girl in the Window is chapter one of Hidden Town, a shared universe of point-and-click escapes by Dark Dome Studios (Peru, founded 2019 by Aldo Mujica and Sandro de la Riva Aguero). Each game is a self-contained room or house. Together they sketch a town that cannot stay buried. This page is the series map for people who finished the first door and want the next address.

You do not need the series to enjoy the walkthrough. You do need it if the ending left the killer unnamed on purpose.

Official stance on play order

Dark Dome repeats this on every store page: play in any order. Stories cross, but each title teaches its own verbs. The Girl in the Window is still the gentlest onboarding — one room, one notebook, one twist. Later games add more rooms, more characters, and more occult machinery.

The line that started here

Studio site order (oldest Hidden Town-style escapes first, names as Dark Dome lists them):

  1. The Girl in the Window — Dan and Mia, abandoned house, twenty-year murder. Steam app 4700560, Android air.com.darkdome.girlinthewindow, iOS 2026.
  2. Unwanted Experiment — a scientist’s lab, kidnapping, escape before the next procedure.
  3. Nowhere House — a witch’s house on the hill. Enter and you may never leave.
  4. Ghost Case — twenty years ago a murder went unsolved. Detective Ren Larsen gets messages from the dead. This is the direct case-file sequel to Dan and Mia.
  5. Haunted Laia — a new family is harassed until they vanish.
  6. Another Shadow — Bastian and Carissa, an old curse that will not leave a new home.
  7. Escape from the Shadows — Ren Larsen again, a request to pull someone back from the afterlife.
  8. Beyond the Room — a building empty six years, rumors of ritual.
  9. Hidden Memories — Lucian wakes with no memory of last night.

Dark Dome has also announced Everlasting Curse as a future title. Store pages for several of these now include Steam links alongside Google Play and App Store, matching the 2026 PC wave that includes The Girl in the Window.

Why Ghost Case is the sequel people mean

The Girl in the Window tells you the siblings are ghosts. It does not name the murderer. Ghost Case puts a detective on that crime and lets the victims speak. Fan videos even label Ghost Case as “Girl in the Window Part 2.” That is unofficial naming, but the studio itself says the first episode connects to the fourth. If you came here for closure, that is the next purchase, not Premium’s secret scene (which is a coda, not the trial).

Shared language across the town

  • Hand-drawn close-ups, inventory combines, notebooks
  • Horror as family tragedy more than jump scares
  • Optional premium extras on older mobile builds
  • Later titles sometimes hide collectibles (owls in Ghost Case, for example)
  • Single-player only, same as this chapter

If you liked the vampire safe style of “use story items in a lore order,” you will see cousins of that puzzle in later houses. If you hated pixel hunts, later games do not magically add a highlighter. The controls patience carries over.

Steam 2026 context

Dark Dome is porting the catalogue. The Girl in the Window was an early storefront arrival on 31 August 2026. Other Hidden Town games have their own app IDs. Buying this one does not unlock the rest. Steam does sell a Dark Dome Collection bundle (nine titles, 15 percent off) separately from the $2.99 single-game SKU. Check updates and official links when a new port goes live rather than assuming a season pass.

  1. Finish The Girl in the Window with Getting Started and the walkthrough.
  2. Read Dan and Mia if you want character notes.
  3. Play Ghost Case if the newspaper ending was not enough.
  4. Wander the rest of the town in any mood: lab (Unwanted Experiment), witch (Nowhere House), family haunting (Haunted Laia).

Hidden Town is a shelf of short novels, not an MMO. The girl in the window is the first sentence. Ghost Case is the case file. Everything after is the rest of the street.
